The Natrona County Sheriff's Office is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in Wyoming, serving a countywide population of about 80,000 citizens and covering about 5,376 square miles. We employ a total of 158 employees and of those 114 are sworn. We also operate one of the largest jails in the state with a total of 476 beds. The Natrona County Sheriff's Office has resident deputies at Alcova Lake, Casper Mountain, and Midwest. The Sheriff's Office also contracts with the Town of Bar Nunn to provide law enforcement services.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Phone scammers are targeting citizens by utilizing false names and titles of deputies and claiming to work for the Natrona County Sheriff's Office. The scammer calls the citizen, states that the citizen has missed jury duty, has a court proceeding, or has a warrant for their arrest, and demands payment via unsecure payment methods such as Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Gift Cards, etc. THIS IS A SCAM.
The Natrona County Sheriff's Office will NEVER contact you by telephone to collect money or financial information. We will NEVER ask you to pay a fine via Apple Pay, Venmo, gift cards, or other insecure payment methods. If you are needed, our deputies will always come to speak with you in person with proper identification. Be aware that the scammer will likely change tactics, however, all of these tactics used are in an attempt to feel urgent and intimidating to the citizen. Do not send money via unsecure payment methods, always verify information by calling our direct phone lines or by visiting us in person at our administrative office.
